An in-ear detection sensor automatically pauses playback when you block or remove the headphone mics from your ear, Beamforming technology isolates ambient noise in phone calls, focusing on your voice, and Hey Siri hands-free is supported. Siri can also read important time-sensitive notifications, including alerts from messages, reminders, calendars, and calls, as well as third-party API-enabled apps.
Battery life is now rated at four hours from the earbuds themselves, with the case providing an additional four full charges for a total of 12 hours. Plus, there’s fast charging, where just five minutes of charging provides about an hour of battery life.
AirPods 3 also have MagSafe support, so you can charge them wirelessly using a MagSafe charger. The earbuds are now part of the Find My network of devices, providing an approximation in Find My and Lost Mode, as well as class alerts and sounds.
